In Andijan region, light industry products increased by 12.5 percent.

According to a new report by the Statistics Agency of Uzbekistan, the country's light industry sector showed significant growth rates in January–April 2026. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
During the first four months, large enterprises in the country produced clothing and textile products worth a total of 12.9 trillion soums. This figure increased by 12.5% compared to the same period last year.
Looking at the numbers, an interesting fact stands out. Nearly 42% of the total clothing and textile products produced in the country, or 5.4 trillion soums worth of goods, came from just one region — Andijan Region.
The provinces of the Fergana Valley and Tashkent Region continue to maintain their traditional leadership in the textile industry. Andijan Region ranks first with 5.4 trillion soums.
Tashkent Region ranks second with 1.4 trillion soums, and Namangan Region ranks third with 1.1 trillion soums. Fergana Region takes fourth place with 1 trillion soums.
Tashkent City occupies fifth place with 999.2 billion soums. Samarkand Region is sixth with 687.1 billion soums, Bukhara Region seventh with 449.3 billion soums, and Kashkadarya Region eighth with 431 billion soums.
Khorezm Region ranks ninth with 397 billion soums, and Navoi Region tenth with 326.2 billion soums. Sirdaryo Region (200.2 billion soums), the Republic of Karakalpakstan (199.9 billion soums), Surkhandarya Region (141.8 billion soums), and Jizzakh Region (132.8 billion soums) occupy the bottom positions in the ranking.
In Surkhandarya and Jizzakh regions, the share of large enterprises in official statistics appears somewhat lower due to the development of small family entrepreneurship and handicraft entities compared to large textile complexes. Overall, however, Uzbek textile products are not only meeting domestic demand but also rapidly expanding export volumes.
There is a basis for the positive trends in Uzbekistan's light industry sector to continue in the future.
