Startup projects play an important role in increasing the volume of Uzbekistan's economy

The Government of Uzbekistan has set a priority task to increase the volume of the country's economy to $240 billion by 2030, Zamin.uz reports.
The head of state particularly emphasized that innovative startup projects introducing new ideas and modern approaches into all sectors play an irreplaceable role in achieving this high goal. Today, economic growth is ensured not only by traditional methods, but also by high technologies and the intellectual potential of youth.
Over the past nine years, the local startup ecosystem in our country has developed to an unprecedented extent, growing 15-fold. Currently, the total value of this sector exceeds $4 billion, which is encouraging.
Moreover, the system of financial support in this field is also expanding. In particular, the number of venture funds has reached 23, with their total capital amounting to $200 million.
These indicators indicate that a new generation of entrepreneurs is forming in the country. During this period, more than 1,200 promising startup projects have been implemented in our country.
Importantly, over 3,000 young specialists are active in this field, earning high incomes. Uzbekistan's achievements in this area are also recognized internationally.
For example, in the global startup index, our country ranks above 31st place. Furthermore, Uzbekistan has been singled out as one of the fastest-developing startup ecosystems in the world and was declared the country of startups for 2026.
Now, government bodies and local khokimiyats will be directly responsible for supporting youth ideas. Within the framework of the "Thousand Solutions from Youth for a Thousand Issues" initiative, each minister and khokim will post pressing problems in their systems on an open platform.
The most popular solutions proposed by youth will be appropriately rewarded. For this purpose, each leader has been instructed to establish a venture fund of at least 10 billion soums.
These funds will be used to reward winners and finance the implementation of the top 20 projects from idea to implementation. At the same time, the Youth Affairs Agency will select 100 of the most outstanding projects in the fields of business, information technology, and creative economy.
It is planned to invest up to 1 billion soums of each of these projects. Such a systematic approach will be 1 billion soums in each of these projects. Such a systematic approach will help direct youth knowledge and skills toward the country's development.
