The Tax Committee has denied reports that the cashback system will be suspended.

The Tax Committee has issued an official statement regarding reports circulating on social media about the suspension of the cashback system. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the Committee, there are no plans to cancel or restrict the system introduced by the state. On the contrary, measures are being considered to ensure its fairer operation.
Under the current procedure, special benefits have been established for citizens registered in the Unified Social Protection Registry. In particular, the full amount of value-added tax paid on the purchase of meat from sheep and goats, eggs, vegetable oil, flour, sugar, and medicines is reimbursed.
However, in recent times, some individuals and entrepreneurs have attempted to exploit this opportunity for dishonest purposes. Investigations by tax authorities have revealed cases of unjust enrichment through the falsification of receipts.
For example, in the month of May alone, hundreds of thousands of suspicious buyers were registered nationwide, and payments amounting to tens of billions of sums were temporarily suspended. Cashback claims totaling billions of sums, registered by tens of thousands of citizens in Navoi, Fergana, and Andijan regions, were identified as suspicious and their payments have been withheld.
The Committee emphasized that these measures are not aimed at closing the system, but at preventing the misuse of budget funds. Citizens are only required to register receipts for purchases they have actually made.
It was noted that using receipts belonging to others or fake receipts is illegal, and such cases will be subject to oversight. If citizens encounter offers to sell fake receipts or other forms of fraud, they are advised to contact the special units of the tax authorities.
The State Tax Service will continue to monitor that all processes are carried out within the law and transparently.
