Deputies are discussing amendments and additions to the legislation aimed at strengthening citizens' rights over their own images. This was reported by Upl.uz.
According to the draft, obtaining consent is mandatory for photographing a person and using their image. If the person is legally incapable, consent is given by their legal representative.
In the event of a person's death, if they did not give consent to use their image during their lifetime, this right passes to the heirs. Additionally, the draft law recognizes children under 16 years old as independent legal subjects.
For photographing and using the images of children under 16, consent must be given by their parents or guardians. From the age of 16, children have the right to make these decisions themselves.
Furthermore, the draft law sets requirements to ensure personal privacy during video surveillance. If a video surveillance system is installed in a building or facility, a warning sign must be placed obligatorily.
The draft law also includes a list of cases where unauthorized photographing and use of images are permitted. These legal changes serve to protect citizens' personal privacy and strengthen control over their images.
