How are scammers stealing money from bank cards?
Nowadays, thieves do not come to you and pickpocket, but rather they are eyeing the money in your account. In this video, we will explain the most commonly used method by scammers to "hack" into your phone - malicious APK files, ways to protect yourself from them, and what to do if you fall victim to fraud.

This type of fraud, aimed at theft, mainly deceives older individuals who are not familiar with the various file formats that come to their phones. Unfortunately, such cases are not decreasing.

The most common type of this fraud involves sending a file resembling a malicious APK format application to the victim's smartphone. Through this, control over SMS messages and applications linked to plastic cards on their phone is seized, allowing the scammers to transfer money to their own account.

In this video, we will explain the methods that scammers use to "hack" into your phone, ways to protect yourself from them, and what to do if you fall victim to fraud.

So, how can we protect ourselves from the tricks of scammers?

  • First of all, it is essential not to open such suspicious files;
  • If you have already opened and installed the application, you should immediately delete the application and your Telegram account (if necessary). Because there is a high probability that a virus file has been automatically sent from your account to others;
  • Next, contact the person who sent you such a file via a phone call and inform them;
  • Most importantly, go into the settings of payment applications (Payme, Click, Paynet, or other bank applications) and remove any unknown devices from the devices section;
  • Don't forget to change the phone number linked to your plastic card; this can be done through ATMs.

If the money on your card is being withdrawn one after another and you don't know what to do in an emergency: first, call the bank of your plastic card and have your card blocked. This will freeze the scammers' actions. After that, you can proceed with the measures mentioned above.

Another important reminder is that this type of fraud does not only come in the form of APK files but can also appear as suspicious links. For example, it may be a website designed to look like an official site, and its URL will be very close to the original. If you accidentally enter it to make a payment, the scammers will gain "access" to your bank card through an SMS code.

The safest and simplest way: do not open any suspicious applications or links sent to you. Only install applications from official stores (Play Market, Galaxy, or Mi Store).

Take care of yourself and your money!
