Zenit team's head coach Sergey Semak shared his thoughts for Match TV after the game against Rostov. Euro-football.ru reported this.
He emphasized that the match was very difficult, important, and impactful. Semak mentioned that he had a long conversation with the referee after the game and expressed a desire to discuss some situations that arose during the match.
He pointed out that it is difficult to understand the difference between the referee's decisions and the situations on the football field. He specifically noted that no one interfered with the goalkeeper in receiving the ball and making an accurate shot, indicating that it was a technical error.
Semak also noted that the referee had some unique interpretations of certain rules at the beginning of the game. He highlighted that Zenit did not perform well at the start of the match, while Rostov relied heavily on long passes and physical battles.
He mentioned that their central defenders lost many duels, which caused problems during the game. In the second half and the remaining part of the match, the team began to respond more to situations, but acknowledged that due to some shortcomings in defense in the final minutes of the game, good opportunities were created for the opponent.
Semak also explained that two substitutions were made during the game. Erakovich was substituted due to injury; although he could have continued playing, he was experiencing pain and dizziness.
Vega noted that he has not fully adapted to official games yet, emphasizing that there is a significant difference between friendly matches and official games. He also mentioned that returning Duqlas to his usual position affected this process.
Semak also assessed Jerson's performance in the first half, stating that he is not physically fully prepared but showed quality play on the field. He indicated that Jerson worked well in the center, initiating attacks and adding quality to the team.
Overall, the coach emphasized that the match was complex, highlighted some shortcomings of the team, but expressed satisfaction with the overall result.
