Trump wants to interfere in the selection of Iran's new leader

US President Donald Trump has stated his intention to influence the process of selecting Iran's new supreme leader. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This statement has further increased concerns about Washington's military objectives in the region. Following the death of Iran's current supreme leader Ali Khamenei, Iran's religious leadership is on the verge of choosing a new leader.
Khamenei's son is also being mentioned as a candidate for this position. Reports are circulating about this.
In an interview with Axios, Trump emphasized his intention to interfere in this process. He said that, just as in the case of Venezuela, he should also participate in shaping Iran's leadership.
However, analysts point out that there are significant differences between Tehran's ideological system and the government model in Caracas. The president's statements contradict the views previously expressed by US officials that "we do not aim to change the Iranian regime."
According to former American diplomats, if Washington truly attempts to change the regime, it could lead to costly disorder similar to previous attempts. This situation may also negatively affect the US's reputation in the region.
