Merlen is 23 years old and was trained at the Nantes club. He moved to Marseille in the winter of 2024, and Nantes received 10 million euros for this transfer.
Merlen's primary position is left-back, but he can also play as a left-wing midfielder. Marseille finished second in the French league before the current season and will participate in the Champions League in the new season.
