Crystal Palace intends to appeal UEFA's decision to exclude them from the Europa League competition. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
UEFA had previously made a decision regarding the compliance of the owners of the London club, stating that due to the relationships between the owners of Crystal Palace and Lyon, they could not participate in the Europa League at the same time. Nevertheless, Jon Textor's company sold its stake in the London club, although this sale occurred after the deadline.
As a result, Crystal Palace received a spot in the Europa Conference League instead of the Europa League, while Nottingham Forest was promoted to the Europa League competition. The Crystal Palace team has filed an appeal to CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport) regarding this decision.
Fans of the London club also expressed their dissatisfaction by going to UEFA's headquarters and demanding justice. Representatives of the "Orl" fan movement demonstrated their protest by handing fake money bags to UEFA, as reported by The Independent.
It should be noted that Crystal Palace secured a ticket to participate in the Europa League competition as the winner of the FA Cup.
