Pogrebnyak: Zenit needs a new striker

Former "Zenit" and Russia national team striker Pavel Pogrebnyak expressed his thoughts on the "blue-white-sky blues" attacking line. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

According to him, it is necessary to strengthen this area of the Petersburg team. The expert emphasized that while the "Zenit" attacking lineup is strong, they were unable to show effective performance last season.

For this reason, the club is forced to search for a striker. The goal is to regain the championship title and correct mistakes.

Thus, acquiring a striker is a priority task for the team. Last season, the St. Petersburg team scored 58 goals in 30 matches in the Russian championship.

Nevertheless, "Zenit" could not secure the championship and finished in second place, just one point behind "Krasnodar." The next match of the new season will take place on July 27 in Kazan.

"Zenit" will take the field against the "Rubin" team in front of its fans. The team's head coach Semak and his players are ready to mobilize all their strength for the new season.
