He emphasized that Williams' agent offered the player's services to the Catalan club. Although the initial negotiations went well, during the contract signing phase, Athletic and the player changed the initial terms.
De Koenig's team demanded a final decision within 48 hours. If they did not accept the terms, it was clear that the deal would not go through.
As a result, the player extended his contract with his current club for another ten years. Currently, the 23-year-old player's market value is 70 million euros.
