Vladimir Ponomaryov, a former defender of the USSR national team, commented on the decision of Lokomotiv midfielder Sergey Pinyaev not to move to the Moscow CSKA club. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to the expert, the young player is not yet at the level of the "army" team and it would be better for him to stay at his club. Ponomaryov emphasized that due to Pinyaev's height of 167 centimeters, it will be difficult for him to compete at a high level relying only on technique.
He stated that the player has dribbling skills and can strike well with his right foot, as his position is on the left wing. However, Ponomaryov does not consider Pinyaev to be a high-level player.
He noted that he fits well for Lokomotiv, but cannot reach the level of CSKA. Earlier, media reports suggested that CSKA was ready to activate the option to purchase Pinyaev, but the player rejected the move.
Therefore, Sergey will continue to play for his current team.
