There was not universal confidence in the purchase of Viktor Dyokeresh by London’s Arsenal team. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
On Saturday, the "Gunners" officially announced the long-awaited transfer of the Swedish striker. The 27-year-old player was bought from Lisbon's Sporting club for over 65 million euros without bonuses.
According to journalist Miguel Dileyni, Arsenal's analytical group almost unanimously supported the purchase of Benyamin Sheshko instead of Dyokeresh. London specialists assessed the current players' levels as approximately equal, but the Slovenian player is five years younger and has significant potential for growth in the future.
Viktor is already considered to have reached his peak level. The former Sporting star's candidacy was also supported by sporting director Andrea Berta.
He believes more in visual assessment, according to analytical data. The Italian specialist rated the price that RB Leipzig asked for Sheshko—approximately 75 million euros—as very high.
Thus, the team is making a strategic decision considering the future.
