Former “Zenit” player Aleksey Strepetov commented on the rumors about the conflict between “blue-white-light blues” midfielder Maksim Glushenkov and head coach Sergey Semak. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
It became known that “Zenit” head coach Sergey Semak substituted Maksim Glushenkov during halftime in the match against “Rubin.” Some media outlets reported that a misunderstanding arose between Semak and the player after this incident.
According to Aleksey Strepetov, Maksim Glushenkov has not been able to show himself well in recent games, and some mistakes were observed in his actions. Therefore, the coach decided to substitute him.
However, in Strepetov's opinion, Glushenkov has all the potential to be a good player. He just needs to calm down and return to his previous level of play.
Today, on July 30, Glushenkov's team will begin its participation in the Russian Cup. “Zenit” will face the “Akmat” team.
The match will start at 22:45 Tashkent time.
