Russian football teams are unable to participate in European competitions due to UEFA sanctions. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
Therefore, they are limited to just monitoring the ranking table and cannot influence their position. Nevertheless, UEFA grants Russia 4.333 points each year.
This figure represents the lowest result for Russian football, calculated over a five-year period since the sanctions were imposed. The ranking table is also based on the results of the last five years.
It should be noted that points are automatically assigned by UEFA only at the end of the season. Currently, such points do not exist.
As a result, other countries have the opportunity to leave Russia behind without competition. Last week, Ukraine managed to surpass Russia, and now Azerbaijan has done the same.
According to the latest results, Azerbaijan has risen to 28th place in the rankings, while Russia is in 29th place. This situation negatively affects the international standing of Russian football.
If the situation does not change, Russia's position in the rankings may decline further.
