Yuriy Pervak, who previously served as the general director of Moscow's "Spartak" club, shared his thoughts on the team's prospects for the new season. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, "Spartak" has almost no chance of winning the championship. Pervak stated that the club is mainly fighting for a place in the top four.
In his opinion, instead of strengthening the defense and midfield, the team is attracting players from other positions, and it is difficult to understand the reasons behind these decisions. Last season, "Spartak," under the leadership of Dejan Stankovich, finished in fourth place.
The team ranked fourth in the league table after "CSKA," "Zenit," and "Krasnodar." In the current season, after the first two rounds of the Russian championship, "Spartak" is in tenth place with three points.
The club last won the championship in 2017. Therefore, considering the current squad and transfer policy, it is hard to expect high results from "Spartak."
Fans are expecting better results from the team's performance, but so far the results have not met expectations.
