Tottenham Football Club has signed midfielder Joao Palhinha on loan from Germany's Bayern Munich. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
In the club's official statement, it was emphasized that the player could be fully purchased later. According to renowned journalist Ben Jacobs, Tottenham will pay 25 million euros to fully acquire the Portuguese player and will additionally allocate another 5 million euros as a bonus.
This deal has been agreed upon with Bayern Munich. In the summer of 2024, Bayern purchased Joao Palhinha from England's Fulham for 51 million euros.
However, the player was unable to secure a place in the starting lineup during his only season in Germany and could not fully demonstrate his abilities. Therefore, he decided to move to England's Tottenham in search of new opportunities.
Joao Palhinha is 30 years old. In an interview with journalists, he stated that the offer and trust of the club's head coach Thomas Frank played a significant role in his decision to join Tottenham.
Tottenham plans to strengthen its midfield line with this transfer. The club's management and specialists expect high results from the player.
