The attacking midfielder Xavi Simons' transfer from RB Leipzig to Chelsea has not yet been finalized. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
In recent weeks, media reports have circulated that the Dutch player’s move to the "Blues" is almost certain. However, the deal has not been signed yet.
According to renowned sports journalist Fabrizio Romano, there are at least two reasons for this. Firstly, RB Leipzig is currently focused on negotiating the sale of striker Benjamin Šeško.
Secondly, the Chelsea team is also busy transferring some of its players to other clubs. Therefore, decisive negotiations regarding Simons are expected to begin after the aforementioned transfer dealings are concluded.
The 22-year-old player has firmly decided to move to Chelsea and, according to some sources, he has already agreed to the terms of a long-term contract. Although a final agreement has not yet been reached between the parties, the club management is working to resolve all issues in the coming days.
