Nepomnyashchiy expressed a positive opinion about Russian rivals

Russian football specialist Valeriy Nepomnyashchiy shared his thoughts on the opponents of the Russian national team in the friendly matches scheduled for September. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

In these matches, the Russian national team, led by Valeriy Karpin, will face the national teams of Jordan and Qatar. Valeriy Nepomnyashchiy positively assessed playing against such opponents in his opinion.

He emphasized that the Russian national team currently does not have the opportunity to choose opponents, but Jordan and Qatar are considered good teams for friendly matches. According to the specialist, these teams are among the most suitable rivals for Russia among average-level national teams.

For reference, the Russian national team has been banned from participating in international competitions since February 2022 by the decision of FIFA and UEFA. Therefore, the Russian national team currently only has the opportunity to hold friendly matches.

This situation limits the team's ability to choose opponents, but under the current circumstances, games against the national teams of Jordan and Qatar could provide valuable experience for Russia.
