The nationality or passport of a footballer is not important. Why is there some hindrance for Russian footballers to be the best?" he expressed his opinion.
He also noted that restrictions on foreign players could help some footballers while negatively affecting others. Currently, clubs in the Russian Premier League can register a maximum of 13 foreign players for one season.
At the same time, no more than 8 foreign players can participate on the field at the same time.
