Carragher: Chelsea's transfers are not a guarantee for the championship

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher assessed Chelsea's activity in the transfer market. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

According to him, Chelsea has spent 324 million dollars in the current summer transfer window. Carragher believes that these expenses may not bring immediate results for the club.

Carragher recalled the performance of Chelsea in the Club World Cup. He emphasized that this tournament would play an important role in strengthening the connection between the new coach Mareska and the fans.

However, he expressed doubts that the transfers would bring the team closer to the championship. He noted that despite many changes in the squad in recent years, the overall level of the team's play has not improved.

According to Carragher, Cole Palmer has shown good performance in the team, but the wing forwards are very similar to each other. For example, the arrival of Gittens and the departure of Madueke did not significantly affect the quality of the team.

He believes that a similar situation is observed in several positions of the team. Chelsea will start the new season with a match against the current Cup holder Crystal Palace in the English Championship.
