Tukmanov: The limit on legionnaires should have been strengthened earlier

Aleksandr Tukmanov previously worked as the vice-president of the Russian Football Union. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

He expressed his opinion on the possibility of tightening restrictions on legionnaires. Earlier, the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Degtyaryov, announced that starting from the next season, the number of foreign players in the Russian Premier League will be gradually reduced.

Tukmanov commented on this matter: I am also in favor of reducing the limit on legionnaires. Personally, I want our players to play more.

Perhaps this measure should have been implemented earlier. I think this decision was a bit delayed.

It should be noted that currently, Premier League clubs are allowed to register 13 legionnaires. However, on the field, a maximum of eight foreign players can participate at the same time.

These restrictions are expected to help the development of local players. According to experts, the reduction in the number of legionnaires will create more opportunities for young players to showcase their talents.
