The former president of Moscow's "Torpedo" club, as well as a former employee of the Russian Football Union, Alexander Tukmanov expressed his opinion regarding the friendly matches to be held in November. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
On November 12, the Russian national team, led by Valery Karpin, will compete against the Peru national team, which is ranked 42nd in the world rankings. Three days later, they will face the Chile national team, which is ranked 57th.
According to Alexander Tukmanov, this time the opponents are strong and serious. He emphasized that the friendly matches will not be as easy as before.
This is because many players from the Peru and Chile national teams play in European clubs. This indicates that the games will be held at a high level.
For reference, the Russian national team has never faced Peru on the field before. They have only played against Chile once – in a friendly match in 2017.
That match ended in a 1:1 draw. These upcoming games are expected to be an important test for the Russian national team.
