Aleksandr Shikunov previously worked as the sports director of the 'Spartak' football club. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He expressed his opinion about the future of the team's head coach Deyan Stankovich. According to Shikunov, Stankovich's resignation has become inevitable.
He stated that after the game against 'Lokomotiv', Stankovich himself mentioned that some coaches would leave the club voluntarily. Shikunov recognized Stankovich as an honest and prominent player, advising him to make the decision to resign independently.
This season, in the fourth round of the Russian Premier League, 'Spartak' lost 2:4 away to Moscow's 'Lokomotiv'. This result marked the worst start for the club in the last 14 years.
After four rounds, the team has only accumulated four points and is in 11th place in the league table. Additionally, 'Spartak' has repeated its anti-record for the number of goals conceded at the start of the championship.
The team conceded 12 goals in the first four rounds. Such a result was last recorded in the 2004 season when Nevio Scala was the head coach.
This situation is causing serious concern among the club's management and fans.
