Football expert Hasanbi Bidjiyev, who is currently the head coach of the "Dinamo" team in Makhachkala, commented on the likelihood of strengthening the restrictions imposed on foreign players in Russian football. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, changing the restrictions on the number of foreign players has never led to positive results. In Bidjiyev's opinion, there are already sufficient restrictions for foreign players in Russian football at present.
In particular, such restrictions are in place starting from the second league level. He also emphasized the need for competition in the Russian Premier League.
According to the current regulations, no more than eight foreign players are allowed to be on the field at the same time in one team. At the same time, a total of thirteen foreign players can be included in the club's official roster.
These restrictions have been implemented to increase competition in Russian football and create opportunities for the growth of local players. Experts believe that instead of tightening the existing restrictions, attention should be focused on developing the competitive environment and improving the skills of the players.
