Former player of Moscow's "Spartak" team Valeriy Kechinov shared his thoughts on Matvey Safonov's situation at Paris' "PSG" club. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, new opportunities are emerging for Safonov against the backdrop of reports that the team's main goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma may leave the squad. Valeriy Kechinov emphasized that if Donnarumma leaves the team and the coach can trust Safonov, he has a good chance of becoming the main goalkeeper for "PSG".
Additionally, according to the expert, rumors about Safonov leaving "PSG" are no longer relevant. The Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov transferred from "Krasnodar" to "PSG" in the summer of 2024.
His transfer fee amounted to 20 million euros. The 26-year-old goalkeeper's current contract with the French champions runs until the end of June 2029.
Previously, there were reports that Istanbul's "Galatasaray" club was also interested in Safonov. For now, Safonov is working to solidify his position at "PSG".
