The goalkeeper of Moscow's CSKA football club, Igor Akinfeev, shared his thoughts on the current state of the Russian Premier League. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
In his interview, he emphasized that it is incorrect for some people to underestimate our football and say "our football is very bad." According to Akinfeev, if someone does not like our football, they can choose not to watch it, but in any case, we must approach our sport with respect.
He stated that we should value the Russian Premier and First Leagues as our own sport. In his opinion, it is always possible to achieve good results and create quality products.
Akinfeev noted that the Russian Premier League is not weak at present, and there are strong teams showing good performances in the league. He has been participating in adult football since 2003.
This season, the 39-year-old goalkeeper has played in five matches across all competitions, conceding three goals and keeping a clean sheet in two games. Currently, CSKA is in fourth place in the Russian championship, having accumulated eight points after four matches.
