Uzbekistan national team head coach Timur Kapadze attended a press conference after the match against Iran (2:2) in the 2026 World Cup qualifying round.
"First of all, I congratulate the Iran national team on qualifying for the World Cup and wish them success in this tournament. The game was interesting and exciting, both teams had opportunities. I think the result was fair. We could have beaten Iran, but it didn't happen. Now we are thinking about the next game and trying to qualify.
I express my gratitude to my players for this wonderful game and to the Uzbek fans who visited the stadium. The people of Uzbekistan deserve to be at the World Cup, and I thank them for their prayers. We are trying to achieve the necessary result in the next game.
