Russian goalkeeper Sergey Pesyakov, who represents the "Krylya Sovetov" team, shared his thoughts on the performance of Igor Akinfeev, the goalkeeper for the Moscow team CSKA. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, looking at Akinfeev's statistics clearly shows his goalkeeping skills. Sometimes he stops the ball with his knee in one-on-one situations, which may not fit the style of goalkeeping for some, but the result is what matters.
The main thing is whether the ball entered the goal or not, Pesyakov said in an interview with "RB Sport". Igor Akinfeev made his debut for CSKA in 2003.
Since then, despite being 39 years old, he has played 805 matches for the Moscow club and kept a clean sheet in 334 of them. This season, Akinfeev has appeared in eight games and conceded six goals.
Currently, his team holds second place in the Russian Premier League standings with 15 points.
