President Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent congratulations to the members of the Uzbekistan team who won the Asian Cup among teenagers held in Saudi Arabia. Below is the full text of the congratulations.

Dear children!

I sincerely congratulate you on behalf of our people and in my own name for successfully participating in the prestigious competition held in Saudi Arabia among teenagers under seventeen years old and for winning the high prize – the Asian Cup.

It is undoubtedly a glorious event that will be written in golden letters in the history of our national football that our young, determined, and courageous youth, like you, did not suffer a single defeat throughout the tournament, showing record results and bravely defending the honor of our beloved homeland.

Especially in the final, despite various pressures against a very strong team like the host – Saudi Arabia, your fierce struggle with nine players against eleven was a true example of courage and bravery. The high valor and skill you demonstrated deserve all praise.

It should also be noted that at the end of the competition, three of our talented and skilled athletes were awarded individual prizes, including Ne’matulloh Rustamjonov – the best goalkeeper of the tournament, Asilbek Aliyev – the best scorer, and Sadriddin Hasanov – the best player.

Our nation sees in you the brightest representatives of the New Uzbekistan youth who always strive forward and are capable of conquering high peaks, and it rightfully takes pride in you.

I sincerely express my heartfelt gratitude to you, your parents who raised you, and your coaches for this historic victory, which is another practical result of the high attention given to the development of sports, including football, in our country.

I believe that you will be inspired by this victory and will participate honorably as the winning team of Asia in the World Championship to be held in Qatar this November.
