The dates of June 2-10 have been designated as FIFA days, during which the Uzbekistan national team will take the field against the UAE in Abu Dhabi on June 5 and against the Qatar team in Tashkent on June 10.
The match against the UAE could go down in the history of the country's football. A draw in this match would also lead our team towards the World Cup. Based on this, head coach Temur Kapadze plans to prepare seriously for the match in Abu Dhabi. In particular, our national team aims to depart for the trip earlier than usual and continue preparations in the Emirates.
It is known that during the last 10 days of May, foreign players can also arrive at the national camp earlier. This, in turn, provides Kapadze with the opportunity to gather the team sooner. Based on this, the Association and the League have mutually agreed to postpone the Super League round 12 matches to after the FIFA days. This, in turn, ensures that the players participating in the Super League arrive at the national team earlier.
You can familiarize yourself with the changed schedule through this link (first half of the year, second half of the year). The principle of having Super League games on weekends and cup matches taking place in the middle of the week has been preserved, and the quarter-final stage of the national cup has been moved to August.
We believe that our national team will gift a World Cup ticket to all Uzbekistanis in June.
