In the 9th round of the Uzbekistan Super League, Tashkent's "Pakhtakor" club hosted "Bukhoro" at home and won with a significant score of 6:0. After the match, the experienced striker of the "lions," Igor Sergeyev, shared his thoughts on the match and the game.
"Although the score looks very large, the match was intense and fierce. In today's match, "Bukhoro" showed good resistance and fought seriously on the field. No opponent promises an easy game, and today's contest was a vivid confirmation of that. Nothing was given to us easily; we had to put all our strength into achieving victory. Thank God we managed to do it," said the 32-year-old footballer.
Sergeyev emphasized his satisfaction with the team's performance, stating that they played tirelessly until the last minute, regardless of any pressure:
"I also want to express my gratitude to my teammates. Even when the score was 2:0 or 3:0, they did not relax; on the contrary, they wanted to score in every minute of the game and achieve an even better result. I also want to thank our fans. They are always with us, and their support makes us stronger."
At the same time, the experienced striker expressed respect for the "Bukhoro" club, which accepted today's defeat, wishing them good luck in the future:
"I wish the Bukhoro team never to fall into spiritual despair. Such results happen in football and life. I send them my best and sincere wishes. I hope luck will be with them in their upcoming matches."
In response to a question from journalists about the changes in the team, Sergeyev expressed his professional approach, emphasizing that such decisions are not the players' responsibility:
"I cannot clearly say what the reasons for the changes in the team are. I am a player who needs to go out and play; I do not have the right to speak or evaluate this matter. I believe answering such questions is the responsibility of the head coach or the club management."
The Zamin.uz editorial team wishes "Pakhtakor" and its leading player Igor Sergeyev great victories and immense success in future competitions.
