Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has imposed sanctions on three Uzbek companies and one citizen of Uzbekistan, according to Kursiv Media.
The sanctions came into effect on May 9 and will last for 10 years. These measures are aimed at Mercury Renaissance joint venture and its subsidiary Fergana Chemical Plant.
Mercury Renaissance is registered in Tashkent and has been engaged in leasing and renting construction equipment since 2016. The founders of the company are Rustam Muminov and Shahriyor Tojiyev.
Personal sanctions have also been imposed on Rustam Muminov. According to Zelensky's decree, "appropriate measures" will be taken against him.
The sanctions also apply to Raw Materials Cellulose, a company located in Jizzakh that produces cellulose and paper raw materials.
The list of Ukrainian sanctions also includes companies from Russia, China, Iran, and Belarus.
