What explanation did Maksim Shatskix give for the defeat of "Andijon" yesterday?
After the match between "Sho‘rtan" and "Andijon" (1:0) in the 10th round of the Super League, the guest team's head coach Maksim Shatskix shared his thoughts on his team's performance, the referees' decisions, and future plans at a press conference.
"We played well even with one player less"
— My team did not play poorly in the second half. To be honest, the red card shown by the referees was incomprehensible to me. Interestingly, the cancellation of the card shown to the opponent was made after being reviewed by VAR. Nevertheless, despite being down to 10 players, we organized the game well in the second half. There were also opportunities. The players tried to fully follow our instructions. However, we needed to be more attentive in the first minutes. Therefore, the result did not satisfy us. A friendly draw would have been fairer.
"Some players were not in their positions"
— Some key players in our team – Farhod Sohibjonov, Mirzad Mexanovich, and Luka Uskokovich were not included in the roster due to injuries. Overall, some players were not in their positions and had to play in different lines out of necessity. This inevitably affected the result. I am not responsible for the selection before the competition; we are currently using all the players available under the current circumstances.
“The red card decision needs to be reviewed”
— Speaking about the red card in the first half, I believe it was not the right decision. There was a foul, but it was not at the level of a dismissal. It is difficult to understand why the referees made such a decision. The referees' committee should review such situations. This decision had a serious impact on the game and our plans.
"Our goal is to fight for the top positions"
— We fight for victory in every game. This defeat was a test for us. During the break in the championship, we plan to prepare adequately and return with a new spirit. We clearly know which lines of the team need strengthening, and we will work on that.
