Secrets of Longevity: Less Meat, More Plants!

The issue of living a long life interests many. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
However, in some regions, this secret has become a simple lifestyle and habit: consuming less meat and paying more attention to plant-based products. Longevity researcher Dan Buettner studied special areas where the population over 100 years old lives the most.
Among them are Okinawa (Japan), Sardinia (Italy), Nicoya (Costa Rica), Ikaria (Greece), and Loma Linda (USA). According to Buettner, people in these places have not completely given up meat.
However, they consume meat not as a main dish but as a supplement. The main part of their diet consists of vegetables, fruits, greens, nuts, and seeds.
Meat is usually consumed once or twice a week in small amounts. Research shows that consuming meat in moderation is important for healthy eating.
One serving of meat per day is acceptable, but basing every meal on meat can be harmful to the body. This is because excessive meat consumption increases the risk of chronic diseases.
Additionally, the diets of long-lived people in so-called "blue zones" prominently feature legumes (such as beans, chickpeas, lentils), greens, and unrefined carbohydrates. People in these regions typically obtain energy and satiety not from meat but from natural and simple products.
This approach is noted as one of the main factors for healthy and long life.
