Iran Interim Council in Power Following Khamenei's Death

Information has been provided on how the governance of the country will be carried out following the death of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to Iran's "Tasnim" news agency and other international media outlets, during the transitional period, powers will be exercised by a three-member interim council consisting of Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian, the head of the judiciary Gholam Hossein Mohseni-Eje'i, and a member from the Guardian Council. This procedure is stipulated in Article 111 of the Iranian Constitution.
It is also reported that in connection with Khamenei's death, a 40-day mourning period and a 7-day holiday have been declared throughout the country. Tensions and air traffic restrictions are also being observed in the region.
Against the backdrop of the strikes and mutual attacks on February 28, air traffic in the region has been restricted and airspace temporarily closed in some countries. According to Reuters analyses, the main question is related to the process of selecting a new leader and the extent to which the system's stability will be maintained.
The stable functioning of internal institutions and the security system is considered a decisive factor.
