Isroil Madrimov lost to Verjil Ortiz in the fight for the WBC Interim title

Uzbekistani's Isroil Madrimov stepped into the ring during a professional boxing evening taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

In the super welterweight category, Isroil Madrimov faced WBC Interim champion, American Verjil Ortiz.

The 12-round championship fight went the full distance, and Verjil Ortiz won by unanimous decision from the judges (117-111, 115-113, 115-113), retaining his title.

So far, 29-year-old Isroil Madrimov has had 12 fights, recording 10 wins, 1 loss, and 1 draw. Now he has 2 losses on his record. 26-year-old Verjil Ortiz Junior increased his number of victories to 23. In his last fight, he had defeated Madrimov's future opponent Bogachuk by points.

Madrimov was supposed to face Ukrainian representative Sergey Bogachuk on December 21. However, the boxer was unable to participate in this fight due to acute bronchitis.
