39 drones destroyed in Moscow air defense

Russian officials reported that the air defense successfully repelled drone attacks during the night. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin announced that 39 drones moving towards the capital were destroyed between 22:00 on March 16 and 6:20 on March 17. Sobyanin did not provide information in his Telegram posts about which targets were hit or in which areas of the Moscow region the drones were intercepted.
According to Sobyanin's previous statements, over the past two days, the air defense has destroyed approximately 250 enemy drones approaching Moscow and moving along the defensive line around the city. Russia's state news agency TASS described the attacks carried out from March 14 to March 16 as the largest strike on Moscow in the past year.
Officials from the Moscow region have so far released limited details about the incident. Regional Governor Andrey Vorobyov did not provide an official comment on the latest attack that occurred during the night.
Therefore, it is unclear whether the targets of the drones intercepted near the capital were related to infrastructure, military facilities, or civilian areas. Reports of damage and casualties are also coming from other regions of Russia.
Vyacheslav Gladkov, Governor of Belgorod region, reported that a drone strike caused damage in the city of Korochа late on the night of March 17. According to him, the drone exploded near a social facility and five people were injured, but the injured refused hospitalization.
In Bryansk region, Governor Aleksandr Bogomaz said that three people were injured as a result of a nighttime drone attack, and three residential buildings and one car were damaged. Aleksandr Drozdenko, Governor of Leningrad region, announced that four drones were shot down in the southwestern part of the region early on March 17, but did not provide additional information about damage or other consequences.
The new wave of attacks shows that the use of long-range drones in the conflict continues and such attacks are frequently occurring on Russian territory. Officials focus on successfully intercepting drones, but provide little information about their routes, launch sites, and targets.
