Roger Milla is considered a symbolic figure of African football in his era, and this record remains unbroken to this day. Third place in the ranking is held by another experienced Portuguese player, Pepe.
He scored against Switzerland at the 2022 World Cup at the age of 39 years and 9 months. Pepe is regarded as one of the players who maintained a high level of performance until the end of his career.
