Chelsea are preparing to make an approach for forward Alejandro Garnacho

Chelsea are seriously considering parting ways with forward Alejandro Garnacho, who was brought in with high hopes last summer, Zamin.uz reports.
The club’s new head coach, Xabi Alonso, made an unexpected statement about the Argentine’s future, indicating that his time at the club may be coming to an end. According to a report published by Goal.com, the coach openly explained the player’s lack of fit with the team’s plans.
As reported by The Telegraph, Chelsea’s management and coaching staff have concluded that the transfer carried out a year ago did not deliver the expected results. Alonso held a meeting with the club’s sporting directors and confirmed that discussions regarding the player’s sale have begun.
The coach emphasized in a press conference that several clubs are showing serious interest in the player, and he hopes the situation will resolve beneficially for all parties. Garnacho failed to make an impact in the Premier League last season.
The 22-year-old winger, acquired for an estimated £40 million, managed to score just one goal throughout the entire championship. His poor form not only contributed to Chelsea finishing tenth in the league table but also played a role in his omission from key matches for the Argentina national team.
At the same time, Chelsea are seeking to improve their financial situation. Having been excluded from European competition, the London club aims to reduce its squad and recoup part of its spending.
It is also worth noting that, under the agreement with Manchester United, ten percent of any future transfer fee for the player will be paid to his former club. Although Garnacho’s spell in England has not worked out, Italian Serie A clubs have shown significant interest in him.
In particular, Roma have expressed readiness to add the player to their squad. Additionally, top clubs such as Napoli, Juventus, and Milan are closely monitoring the winger’s situation.
However, Chelsea’s management is not considering loan offers. The Londoners have made it clear they are only open to a full transfer and aim to recover the maximum possible amount of their investment.
Negotiations are currently underway.
