Former "Spartak" team defender Miyenti Abena expressed his thoughts on who supported him the most at the club. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He mentioned that he communicated a lot with former sports director Tomas Amaral. He also noted that head coach Deyan Stankovich was the first to call him.
In this conversation, Abena told Stankovich that moving to Russia would be difficult for his family, as they would be far from home. However, the coach assured him that everything would be fine.
According to Abena, ultimately actions are stronger than words. The Surinamese player played one season for "Spartak," after which the club terminated his contract.
The 30-year-old Abena appeared in 12 matches for the "red-whites," but did not manage to score a goal. He emphasized that the support and trust shown during his career motivated him.
He also maintained friendly relations with his teammates at the club.
