Gadji Gadjiyev, the president of Makhachkala's "Dinamo" club, expressed his opinion on the expulsion of the Moscow "Torpedo" team from the Premier League. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He described this decision as correct and legal. The team had to be expelled from the league due to accusations of attempting a match-fixing.
According to Gadjiyev, only clubs that comply with the regulations should participate in the Russian Premier League in the new season. He emphasized that it would be preferable to have a total of 18 clubs in the league.
The new season will start on July 18. In the first round, "Torpedo" was scheduled to play against Moscow CSKA.
Currently, there is no clear information on which team will take "Torpedo's" place. This event is being evaluated as an important step towards ensuring fairness and legality in Russian football.
