In an interview with "Euro-Football.Ru," former coach of the Russian national team Sergey Balakhnin shared his thoughts on Jerson's transfer to Zenit. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He stated that evaluating transfers in Russia is difficult because even if a player performs well, they may not show their potential in the RPL. Many players who arrived with high hopes have not delivered the expected results.
According to Balakhnin, it is a complex issue for Jerson to adapt to the team and prove himself. At the same time, he wants to see good players and their championship level increase.
This would further strengthen the competition. Forward midfielder Jerson transferred from Brazil's Flamengo club to the Zenit team.
The transfer fee amounted to 25 million euros, and a contract was signed between the parties that will last until 2030. In the first round of the Russian Premier League, Zenit will play against Rostov at home on July 20 at 18:00.
In this match, the teams will test their strengths.
