The "Crystal Palace" team has been excluded from the competition by the Europa League. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
This decision was made by UEFA. "Crystal Palace" was supposed to participate in the second-tier European club tournament after winning the FA Cup.
However, UEFA excluded the team due to violations of rules regarding ownership of multiple clubs by one individual. John Textor's Eagle Football Holdings company owned both "Crystal Palace" and "Lyon" clubs simultaneously.
Both teams received invitations to the Europa League competition, but "Lyon" had an advantage due to its higher position in its league. Although Textor's company recently sold its stake in "Crystal Palace," the ownership issues were not resolved in time.
Candidates for European cups were required to resolve ownership issues by March 1. As a result, "Crystal Palace" was dropped to the Europa Conference League, while "Nottingham Forest" will participate in the Europa League competition.
