IFAB will make changes to the football rules
The International Football Association Board (IFAB) is considering amendments to the existing rules. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
The British newspaper The Times reported on this matter. It is expected that the VAR system will be granted more powers and may be used to determine second warnings and corner kicks.
One of the most significant changes will occur in the procedure for taking penalties. The aim is to prohibit players from striking the ball again after the goalkeeper has saved it, which will address issues related to players entering the penalty area too early.
The final decision on these proposals will be discussed at the IFAB meeting in March. If all changes are approved, football fans will be able to see them at the next World Cup.
