According to him, the main contender for the championship is currently "Zenit." The team has retained its roster and strengthened with strong players.
Shikunov emphasized that "Zenit" currently has an advantage in all aspects. The first round of the Russian Premier League will start on July 18, Friday.
On that day, the Moscow "Dynamo" team, led by head coach Valeriy Karpin, will take the field against the "Baltika" team. "Zenit," on the other hand, will play its first match of the season on July 20, Sunday, at the "Gazprom Arena" stadium.
