Google Maps has added new car icons!

Google Maps continues to adopt features from Waze. Now users can change the standard blue car icon on the map. They will have the option to choose from eight different vehicles, such as a sports car, pickup, SUV, or sedan. This update makes trips not only informative but also visually interesting.

To select a new icon, iOS and Android users need to open the route menu and swipe up on the screen. Here, in the "Car Icon" section, users can choose not only the car model but also its color. Users can select from black, sky blue, bright yellow, reddish-magenta, and other colors.

This feature brings Google Maps closer to Waze, as Waze users already have the ability to customize car icons. The update is already available in the latest version of the app, which can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play.

Google Maps and Waze serve different purposes: the former provides comprehensive navigation and location recommendations, while the latter emphasizes the convenience of the driving experience. However, the gradual addition of Waze features to Google Maps makes it even more useful for drivers.
