Google Cloud warns of AI security directory

Francis de Souza, Chief Operating Officer of Google Cloud, spoke in detail about the security challenges businesses face in the modern era of artificial intelligence during a conference held in Los Angeles. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to him, today even large technology corporations like Google are undergoing a process of studying and adapting to AI security in real time. The expert specifically emphasized that security should not be an additional element added at the end of a project, but rather an integral part of the overall strategy from the very beginning.
The expert warned companies about the risks of unsupervised artificial intelligence. In this case, confidential data may be put at risk as a result of employees using various open-source software tools without the permission and supervision of the organization's management.
In de Souza's opinion, no effective AI plan can be created without a data and security strategy. These concepts must always develop in close connection with each other.
Additionally, he pointed out that the speed of modern cyberattacks has increased sharply. While it previously took an average of eight hours to breach a system and move to the next stage of an attack, this indicator has now shrunk to just twenty-two seconds.
Another serious risk highlighted was autonomous AI agents moving within a company's internal systems. These digital assistants can easily find old servers and data warehouses that have been forgotten for years and whose security measures have not been updated, potentially causing the leakage of confidential information.
To respond appropriately to such rapid threats, de Souza proposes fighting machine speed with machine speed, meaning a transition to fully automated agent-based defense systems. Lea Kissner, Director of Information Security at LinkedIn, also supported these views.
She predicts that in the coming years, industry specialists will have to seriously struggle with a wave of technical errors and vulnerabilities caused by artificial intelligence. This problem has now become a critical strategic issue that must be resolved not only by technical staff but also at the level of company management and the board of directors.
Ensuring information security is considered the fundamental foundation for the sustainable development of any business today.
