Kaspersky Lab collaborated with Interpol in a special operation called "Ramz," aimed at combating cybercrime in the Middle East and North Africa regions. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the company's press service, important information regarding cyber threats and the technical infrastructure of attackers was provided within the framework of this cooperation. As a result of these measures, significant results were achieved in ensuring digital security in the region.
As a result of this large-scale operation, a total of 201 suspects were arrested, and another 382 individuals involved in illegal activities were identified. Based on available data, nearly four thousand people suffered from the illegal actions of these criminals.
The operation spanned the period from October 2025 to February 2026. Law enforcement representatives from a total of thirteen countries, including Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and others, actively participated.
Thanks to the joint efforts of the parties, servers, websites, and various technical devices used for phishing and financial fraud were identified and their activities were halted. Such prompt measures served as an important step in strengthening information security in the region and protecting the digital data of citizens.
International cooperation plays an incomparable role in curbing crimes committed using modern technologies. Yulia Shlichkova, Vice President for Government Relations at Kaspersky Lab, emphasized that Operation Ramz once again proved in practice that the union of law enforcement agencies and private technology companies allows for the complete elimination of large and complex cybercrime networks.
It is expected that such cooperative relations will continue in the future and serve to ensure the inviolability of the digital space.
