Iranian hackers are behind the cyberattack on the Los Angeles transport system

According to security experts, hackers supported by the Iranian government were behind a cyberattack on the Los Angeles transportation system in March of this year. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
A report released by the Israeli startup Gambit Security emphasizes that these intruders operate under the instructions of the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and State Security. This information has been confirmed by prestigious technology publications.
A group calling itself Ababil of Minab had claimed responsibility for the attack. They claimed to have stolen critical data from the transportation system and subsequently deleted it entirely.
However, industry experts believe this group is not an independently operating team, but rather part of a system directly subordinate to government agencies. Researchers based their conclusions on the group's previous cyber campaigns and evidence identified by Israel's national cybersecurity center.
Gambit analysts also studied attacks on large companies in Israel, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey, finding that similar methods were used in all of them. If these analyses are confirmed, this group will turn out to be another front team acting in the interests of the Iranian government.
Such cases have been observed before, and the US Department of Justice has repeatedly accused Iran of international cyberattacks. Recently, a significant increase in the activity of hacking groups linked to Iran has been observed.
In April, US intelligence services issued an official warning that Iranian hackers were targeting the country's critical infrastructure facilities. Such attacks pose a serious threat not only to data security but also to the stable operation of systems vital to public life, such as city transport.
Experts emphasize the need to further strengthen cybersecurity measures.
